NRC-086 A Short One

This week is a short one, as not all the time we have all the time! But there is still two songs reviewed by Jim and Notts Rock News brought to by Josh

  • Kynch have announced a 24th September release for their single “Ill View” through Rainy Daze Recordings. The three piece Notts rock group previously made waves with their song “It’s a Shame” and are ready to do it again with their modern hard rock style reminiscent of Royal Blood.
  • MindFest 2021 is shaping up to be one hell of a lineup at The Bodega, with High Visions, Like Giants, Liquid State, As Sirens Fall and Well Being all being revealed in the latest announcement. With tickets being a way too cheap £10 a head I know that I’m keeping the 24th April free! Tickets available at
  • Sad news as Hockley Hustle 2020 has been officially cancelled. All tickets brought will be refunded in the next week. In leu of the festival, however, a number of online events are scheduled for the next month. On 19th of September, the first event, Green Hustle, is set. This is described as “An online festival celebrating the best of Nottingham’s Green Scene.”. Following this will be a series of online workshops over the October half term and finally they will be commissioning a “Lockdown Collaborations album with 20 of Notts’ finest and emerging artists”
  • New Nottingham band The Crimson Rays’ debut single “Fall In Line” has made quite the impression off of the back of its sneak peek on BBC introducing this last Sunday. The single is set for release on the 12th of September on all major streaming platforms. The Muse influenced band are certainly ready to hit the scene hard and the best of luck to them!
